Recently we at VidSwap.com tested out a new filming method that would allow us to use one cameraman with two cameras. The point of this is to film both a wide and tight copy, and for soccer this would help accurately tag player touches for teams by having the tight copy. This also gives the coaches 2 great angles to coach from…wide for team concepts, tight for individual players.
Here’s what you need:
- Dual camera bracket
- a 2nd HD camcorder, great options include Canon Vixia HF R600 or the Canon Vixia HF G30
- your tight camera should support LANC or plugging a remote into it, you’ll need to continually adjust the zoom to frame the player with the ball
- if you need a tripod here’s a great option, Acebil 605, or just the Acebil remote
- Optional – you can add on a 7″ monitor for the tight camera if you like…definitely helps
