It is Sunday night, and I think unless I really come up with something super substantial on Sundays, that I am going to do something simple, and family related. So without further ado…
Today my mom, sister, Annie and I went to one of my very best friends gender reveal party. Before we went we decided to stop at Village Inn for some breakfast/lunch, and let me tell you what a disaster that was…
The food took ages to get to the table, and when it did looked like it had been under the warmer for a while. Ate it and it was nothing really special, my corned beef hash was not cooked all the way, and the pancakes were tasteless. Needless to say we were already on edge.
We asked the waitress to split the checks and the check came to the table split into seats but on the same tab…. So we took that to the counter and figured they could sort it up there.
Got to the counter and the woman was trying all she could to sort it, but could not figure it out. She asked the other woman behind the counter for help, but the other woman just kept taking other people, people who had not been waiting as long as we had to leave, and this is when mom got mad.
Now, we come from an Italian family. We will love you to bits, but god help the person that gets under our skin. Mom starting shouting at the woman who was basically ignoring the other woman’s plea for help, and the lady who originally tried to handle the check started crying. Apparently she was having a really bad day and told us not to worry about the check and that it was on her. We refused. I will not walk out of a restaurant after having eaten, and not pay for it.
So by this time the second woman comes over and starts pressing buttons and buttons, and then tells us that they got a new system she can’t even find our check, and for the second time we were told not to worry about the check. Well we were not about to argue after being told twice not to worry about paying for the check….. I still feel awful about it. I don’t like getting something for nothing, and I wish that I could go back and at least hand our server a bit of money, but we had already made enough of a scene so we just left…

Now afterwards we had a little time to kill, so we walked around Walmart (one store I WILL NOT MISS) and then headed to the party!
The party was amazing! Ashley and Mike have been friends of mine for ages and I have photographed all of their milestones. Engagement, wedding, maternity, family photos, pregnancy announcements, and now gender reveal for their second baby! They are just the best people ever, and I am going to miss them horribly when I leave. It is so hard to spend so much of your life with someone, and see so many of their greatest moments, to capture them, and share them with them, and then one day leave and know that you will not be able to do that with them any longer!
I am also working on making videos, and I tried to put together something for them so they could remember this day always!

It is way later on Sunday night than I wanted it to be, but my mom brain forgot that the child had homework this weekend and we just knocked that out and now I am exhausted myself. I swear something in my brain told me the girl and I had another day to get this homework done. Guess that is mom brain for you!
